I've been waiting to stay in a 5X5 dorm room for years, yearning to sleep on the tiny bunk beds that nearly touch the cieling, and dreaming of the limited closet space for my many wardrobe choices. This all may sound like sarcasm but going to stay in a dorm room is all part of the college experience. Not being able to stay in a dorm room my freshmen year would be heartbreaking because I would be missing out on so many opportunities living in a dorm has to offer. Of course part of the experience is based on your roommate.
Hopefully when I go to college my roommate and I will hit it off right from the star, both with a passion for college sports or fashion. We all know thats not always the way it goes, but I guess that is another college experience I hope to avoid.
My roommate might want to know a few things about me before we become best buds. Number one, I'm no neat freak but when my room gets to the point where I can't remember the last time I saw the carpet, it's time to clean up. Walking into a clena room is just relaxing and less stressful. Number two, I have to say as far as I know I'm a quiet sleeper. No snoring, sleep walking, or bed thrashing. I have had a few sleep talking encounters but nothing extreme like I'm spilling secrets out of my mouth. Number three, I'm very outgoing and social. You want to invite some friends over? No problem let them drop in! I love meeting new people, and when you go to school on a large campus the more people you meet the better.
Normally I'm very lenient on rules but I do have some rules on the kinds of things you do with your friends. If you're a smoker, take it outside. Smoking is a nasty habit and I don't need my clothes smelling like cigarettes durring class. If you're a drinker, please don't make me have to carry you to bed every night, take it in responsibly. These situations may seem extreme but something I won't tolerate. I have strong morals and like to stick to them. Otherwise if you need someone to talk to I'm a good listner and even better at giving advice. Need someone to come with you to the football game, I'm there! I'm up for watching or playing any sport that is going on at the time. Need help studying, me to! I could always use a hand when it comes to memoizing lists or equations. for the next big exam.
I come from a big family so I'm very easy going, friendly and helpful. I will be understanding and open minded about anything you come to me with. most importantly if something is bothering you that I'm doing, please just tell me! I'm not a yeller and i don't like confrontation so just sit me down tell me what's up and I will work on it. Look out future classmates of 2010 because I may be living with you in your next dorm room.

Why I Write
Why Do I Write? Well to tell you the truth I don't do a lot of writing outside of school. However when something is on my mind and no one is around for me to talk to I have to write my thoughts down! Whether I'm writing of a scrap piece of paper or sending pages of letters to a friend on facebook or in the mail. I'm not the kind of person to keep my feeling bottled up. I like to write when I have a lot on my mind or when I know that I'm dealing with a personal issue that no one else can relate to. After writing for an hour I feel like I have released so much that I just needed to get out of my system. I have always enjoyed writing...well I'm not a fan of big essays but I love looking back on my work and thinking wow this is pretty good did I really come up with this? Not saying I'm an amazing writer I do need a lot of work but its fun to see how far youve come. My middle brother Jake is a very big writer and My oldest brother Zach is a big reader and they both had a big influence on me while I was growing up. They were always there to inspire me to write more creativley and read in a more fun way (Zach used to sing my bedtime stories to me).
I feel like I could most relate to Didion because she likes to write to recall events in her life and thats what I like to remember. Its fun to look back on your old journals or scrapbooks, you get to recall all these great memories that you may have forgotten. They are also great family conversations! One of my favorite quotes from Didion that I agree with is...

- "In many ways writing is the act of saying I, of imposing oneself upon other people, of saying listen to me, see it my way, change your mind."

Driving Difficulties and Facts on Hannah
Hey yall I'm Hannah and this is my first official blog. I'm 16 years old and have 2 older brothers 2 parents and a black lab. I come from a huge family 15 aunts and uncles and around 50 cousins. I love running, I joined cross country this fall and this spring I will continue to run track. I wish I was better at other sports like it would be awesome to be an amazing soccer player but I'm good for now. I love hanging out with my friends on the weekends the new thing is to go bowling at Medina on Sunday only a $1! I really like to travel to I love my family but I'm going far away when I go to college. I babysit a lot but currently looking for a job. That's a little bit about me and now I'm just going to go on a rant about the issues of my car.
I love driving but owning your own car comes with troubles especially when its 10 years old. Even though my car runs great its got some issues that drive me crazy. 1. You never know how much you use your driver side window until its broken. Every time I go through drive-thru windows I always got that obvious annoying question "Hey you know you can just use your window, instead of opening your door" Are you serious?? Using your window to order instead of opening the door!? I would have never thought of that. Another issue with my car is that I have a bad antenna. My brother thought it would be a great idea to go through the car wash with the antenna up and I went months without one. This summer he decided to install a new antenna himself which was also a not so good idea. The radio works fine but when I change the FM to CD you can hear the antenna going back into the car...pretty sure the car next to me can hear it go down to. I know I shouldn't be complaining, I'm very lucky to have my own car but if you ever see my on the road just don't ask me to roll down my window. :)
